The second hand trend is unstoppable, clothing, books, furniture, technology and now also licenses. A used license can be up to 70% cheaper than a new purchase and also ensures compliance – so you no longer have any difficulties in the audit. But how and where to buy a used license and what to have to consider when buying? This presentation shows which rules have to be observed when purchasing used licenses: The terms of use must be carefully checked, a new version must be purchased and support must be guaranteed by the provider. In addition, according to EU law, the license must originate from the territory of the EU. Even an initially good price can become expensive in the long run due to upgrades and separate support. From this it can be deduced that not every license can be resold and not every second hand license is a bargain.
